Laser Lipo Treatments

jackieYour Laser Lipo experience will begin with a FREE consultation. During this we will discuss the areas of your body you would like to improve, the likely length of treatment required and how those areas will be targeted by the treatments.  Following the consultation and the completion of a medical questionnaire, the targeted fatty area will then be accurately measured and recorded to enable us to monitor your progress. The treatments will then commence as follows :-

The large Diode Laser paddles will be placed on the targeted fatty areas and secured with straps.

Two smaller Probe Lasers will be placed over the appropriate lymphatic glands and held in place, this is to draw the fats released during the process into the lymphatic system.

The Laser Lipo machine will then be activated for 10 minutes, re-located and turned on for another 10 minutes. This will be repeated for the duration of your treatment to target the specific areas identified during your consultation. This is followed by an Ultrasonic Cavitation treatment to accelerate the fat loss process.

The treated area will now be re-measured to assess the inch-loss achieved. You can expect to see a reduction of between 0.5 and 3 inches across all areas.(1.25 and 8cm’s) in just one session.

In order to increase the body’s ability to remove the Triglycerides (the contents released from the fat cells in the treated area), it is necessary to assist this natural process by increasing the metabolic rate through some form of cardio vascular exercise.

How does Laser Lipolysis work ?

  • The Laser Lipo Diodes emit low level laser energy, which penetrates the skin to a depth of approximately 8-9mm.  This is just deep enough to reach the subcutaneous fat layer.
  • The membranes (cell walls) of the fat cells (known as “Adipocytes”) are disrupted and develop tiny pores releasing contents into the space between the fat cells (the “interstitial space”).
  • The contents of the fat cells (Fatty Acids, Triglycerides and water) spill out from the broken cell membranes are released  into the interstitial space. This mechanism of action is not “liquefaction of fat”, it is the instant emptying out of the cells rather than the destruction of them. (referred to as lipolysis).
  • The intra-cellular fat causes the cell to lose its round shape by changing the permeability of the cell membrane.  This does not affect the neighbouring structures such as skin, blood vessels, and peripheral nerves.
  • You undertake some form of (preferably cardio vascular) exercise to raise your heart rate, therefore increase your metabolic rate.
  • Your body will use the fuel available in your blood stream, which includes the Fatty Acids and Triglycerides released by the Laser Lipo treatments.
  • Once the “fuel” in the bloodstream has been used up, your Liver will begin to target the remaining fat deposits (starting  with those most easily broken down – the treated areas) for further “fuel”.
  • Therefore, the more exercise you undertake between treatments, the better your results will be! Laser Lipo is a fantastic means of “reminding” your body about those long dormant fat deposits that no amount of exercise seems to be able to target.

This is why we find Laser Lipo delivers amazing results for such a wide variety of clients, from housewives to body builders, marathon runners to high-powered executives !

Each “treatment” session comprises of up to 30 minutes Laser Lipo application, followed by up to 10 minutes of Ultrasonic cavitation to accelerate inch loss and maximise the effectiveness of your treatments.

What is Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation?

Ultrasonic Fat Cavitation is a relatively new non-invasive procedure designed to reduce localised fat by applying safe levels of ultrasound energy via a hand   held probe to a targeted area of subcutaneous fat.

It is a body shaping procedure that works by breaking down deep stubborn local fat tissues which are subsequently disposed of through the lymphatic and urinary systems.

It is also effective in reducing cellulite, a condition which affects most women over 20, whether slim or overweight. When applied in conjunction with  RadioFrequency (RF), the heating and cavitation effects can also promote collagen realignment and as a result will tighten the skin and reduce wrinkles -check out our Ultimate Cellulite Treatment page for more information on cellulite eradication.

The the main benefits of Ultrasonic fat cavitation are:

  • Volume reduction of tissues (fat blasting)
  • Body shaping and contouring
  • Skin tightening and toning
  • Cellulite reduction

What about After Care?

Clients are encouraged to follow a sensible health and exercise routine. The procedure does not harm the body in any way and will still maintain its ability to store fat in the areas where the work has been carried out. This is an important health factor as it prevents the fat being stored in different parts such as around the heart or other vital organs. If clients eat sensibly and regularly, combined with exercise, the body shape will retain the effects of the treatment.

If you are a healthy adult, over the age of 18 and capable of performing a little regular exercise, to burn off the “fuel” released by the treatments, the answer is usually a resounding “YES”!!

However, there are some medical conditions (referred to as “Contraindications”) that mean we CANNOT treat you.  This is in the best interest of your health and to ensure there are no complications with your condition, so please don’t be offended if we are unable to treat you as a result of one of these conditions being present :-

  • Liver disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Epilepsy
  • Pacemaker
  • Radiation sickness, or receiving radiation therapies
  • Any form of cancer (even if in remission)
  • Immune suppressed disorders
  • If you are pregnant
  • If you are currently breast feeding
  • Diabetes (Type 1 – Insulin dependent)
  • Have a photosensitive skin disorder

If you suffer from any of the following conditions, we CAN treat you with laser lipolysis, (with a signed disclaimer), but would strongly recommend you consult with your GP, or consultant physician, before commencing treatment :-

  • If you are a HIV carrier
  • Diabetes (Type 2)
  • Recent surgery or minor operations (less than 6 weeks ago)
  • Recent injury (awaiting treatment / surgery)
